Chemistry boosts will increase the value of specific FIFA 16 stats

The unenviable question I am tasked to answer in this review is whether or not EA have developed a game that it is more successful than its predecessor. I suppose that I answer this question around this time annually, and I also concede that it is probably a question associated to most games, but this year is a little different. The difference is that last year I thoroughly enjoyed FIFA 15 (it was my favorite since FIFA 10) and I have been playing it since its release. In fact, I was loathe to see what FIFA 16 was about, particularly because I thought the previous title possessed the balance required for us football hooligans and especially because I didn’t want to ruin something that was so good.

In FUT 13, players received boosts for every stat. Since FUT 14, players receive boosts for a chosen number of stats dependent on the Chemistry Style selected. These cards can be applied to a player to change their style of play adjusting the players attributes to their squad needs. Chemistry Styles cards allow players to choose which stats will be affected by chemistry. The chemistry styles cards do not change the chemistry numbers. They redistribute the stats that will receive chemistry boosts. Chemistry boosts will increase the value of specific in-game stats - thus increasing the player’s ability to perform. The goal of any player should be to fill all available arrows. In order to do that, is requested an high chemistry as we will see later. The maximum number of arrows that can be filled is 6 for each player card.

Those in a hurry to get things done can always shell out real money, typical with most video games, but it is not an obligation or mandatory. Pirlo has that unique ability to find a teammate and is still regarded as superior to the other nine contenders for the title of the best passer in the game. The next two in the list gives pride to the Premier League because they are considered as really better than Lionel Messi when it comes to passing. This being 2015, these juicy card prizes don't come for free. You have to cough up 15,000 FUT 16 coins or 300 FIFA points to enter a Draft tournament-the latter costing roughly £1/$1 of real money per 100 points. While you can still play the rest of FUT for free and have a grand old time winning games as you build up the Chemistry rating of your team by tweaking your squad and formation, EA's love of micro-transactions is a reminder that FIFA 16 isn't exactly great value for money. At £50/$60 for the standard edition, the lack of significant on-field improvements grates.

Of course, we're not going to tell you who it is just yet. That'd ruin the surprise. First we need to explain the method behind our madness. So, let's break this down by analyzing the areas that matter most. It'll come as no surprise when I say that FIFA 16 wipes the floor with Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 in terms of authenticity. There's really no competition here: it's like watching Barcelona play Barnet. No offense intended, Barnet fans. For all of its other strengths, and the fact that it boasts a handful of licensed cup competitions, the Champions League being the pick of the bunch, PES simply can't compete with FIFA when it comes to realism.
