FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is successful and lucrative is no excuse for EA ignoring the rest

The goalkeeper system in FIFA 15 was long overdue a rewrite and much more natural behaviours are now evident in everything, from adjusting to changes in the flight of the ball after diving, to more sensible sweeper-keeper actions. These unprompted, Manuel Neuer-like charges from the penalty area, combined with much less predictable ball movements, affect tactics too, all but negating the chipped through-ball as the crutch of lazy FIFA players worldwide. Opposition and team-mate AI is also significantly more advanced, meaning runners are often tracked by defenders beyond third and fourth passes and strikers will find space with much greater frequency.

Many players of fifa 15 also think that the only way to be millionaire is buying packs. They find other players on the market that are selling several very expensive cards and they think they got the money buying packs. They don’t. They probably are really good traders or have used scam techniques. We are not saying to not buy packs any more. It is important that people keep buying packs. First because they are paying the Ultimate Team mode (in the first year it was paid). Then, because the game only works if cards keep being inserted into the game and the only good way to do it is through the store. If players want to use real money to buy packs, they should know that they will need to spend a good amount of fifa 15 coins to get a good squad. We are not saying that it is not a good strategy, we are just saying that it is not a cheap option. For who don’t cares with money, it is a decent decision.

So the first method is actually from one of our videos that we uploaded a couple of months ago and it’s the original FIFA 15 Career Mode cheats. The second technique is using the financial takeover from the EASFC catalogue and we also covered that around the same time but it’s a really helpful boost as it involves a new foreign owner taking control of your club and injecting a big cash sum into your squad. There were quite a few players that were saying that this didn’t work for them, so we took your comments and decided to do the next higher up level of the financial takeover which was level 39 and redeem the item once again. Just like the first occasion there were no problems so all you have to do is follow our tutorials step-by-step and you should have no further problems.

But just because Ultimate Team is successful (and lucrative) is no excuse for EA ignoring the rest of the game. Given that the problem with yearly sports updates is finding anything useful to change and add actively ignoring obvious problems, and making others worse, shows a very strange sense of priorities. It’s not all bad news though and the new Team Sheets option is probably the best new feature in FIFA 15, as it allows you detailed control over the tactics of every player. It almost turns FIFA into a player manager title and is hopefully going to be an area of further expansion in the future. Ultimately, recommending FIFA 15 comes down to where gamers stand with the series. Those who skipped last year’s game in the hopes that this would be the must-have next-gen experience will be dooly rewarded with a better looking and better playing game. Similarly, any fans who have fallen off the wagon will come away impressed by the package EA Sports has put together. However, since FIFA 14 was no slouch it’s hard to say FIFA 15 is a definitive must own. The lack of new modes or significant changes to those modes is disappointing, and we suspect those areas will be getting some attention next year. And the keeper and team AI will only get better a second year out.

Most of the game’s presentation is as exquisite as you’d expect. The new Premier League content (all stadia, teams, many more highly detailed faces, etc.) is very welcome, especially as a fan of a team likely to finish in the bottom half of that league. There’s very little about the front-end of the game that’s markedly different, but the menus never suffered from that frustrating moment of lag that has appeared from time to time in past games. Unfortunately, there is a pause in your input as a match goes into half time or finishes up. You can no longer immediately skip highlights and are forced to watch the first several seconds of them at least, as you hammer away at an unresponsive set of buttons. It’s a minor frustration but one that happens in every match and will hopefully be patched out.

As for the future, it's really hard to say. Every year I wonder how EA Canada can make material improvements without breaking the game and cooking their golden goose, but every year they manage to surprise me, as they've done with FIFA 15. It's for that reason that FIFA remains secure in its position as the best all-around sports sim, and should remain at the top of the heap for the forseeable future.
