As everybody knows, FIFA 17 ratings are a BIG deal. But they're not only important to fans of the game anymore, the players themselves REALLY care about their numbers. FIFA 17’s top three players in the world are Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Neymar, with ratings of 94, 93 and 92 respectively. The game, which is set for release on September 27, ranks Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David de Gea, and Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil as the country’s top three footballers, with rankings of 90, 90 and 89 respectively.
Which is why Harry Kane can't hide his disappointment when his this season's FIFA stats are unveiled to him in the video above. The ex-England corner-kick taker believed his 84 shooting rating should be in the 90s, while his defending, which has gone up (not down), should also be higher. In the clip, Kane, who scored the most Premier League goals last season, tells the host he is a “bit nervous” about seeing his numbers but says in hope: “After winning the golden boot, hopefully they’ll be up there.” His attributes are then revealed to him on a card – he scores an overall of 84, but is left unimpressed.
The game-makers gave the star 84 for shooting, 73 for pace, 71 for passing, 78 for dribbling, 42 for defending and 81 for his physical abilities. But the Spurs star shoots back: “I think shooting’s definitely got to be in the 90s. Defending’s a bit harsh, it’s gone down – I would like to see that improve. “I’d say passing’s a bit higher, definitely – it’s better than 71.” You knew it was going to be bad when the Tottenham striker was hyping himself up, saying "they should be up there" after his Golden Boot winning season. When his Ultimate Team board is turned over, Kane's face drops as he sucks in his breath with disappointment.
