Having womens soccer is a welcome addition to the FIFA 16

EA make a huge effort every year to map all of the top players faces, body movements and styles – and this year is no exception. One of my favourite things about FIFA is that you can see who the players are simply by how they are running and moving on the field as they mimic their rea- life counterparts to near perfection. The stadiums are expertly rendered and you can feel the vibe change throughout the different arenas with the most advanced crowd rendering and reactions yet. It isn’t an uncommon experience for people to wander past while you are playing and for them to mistakenly believe you are watching a live game…but it is by no means perfect.

Although they have increased the physicality but the AI controlling referees blow the whistles even at a faint touch inside the box which results in easy soft penalties. A real frustration for a user. Shooting is all-right if you are inside the box but from way out it's another task to get your shots on target or have a good pace on it till the time it reaches the goalie. Commentary is the biggest plus point as it an improvement over the previous versions. What does the Chemistry mechanic mean for your time playing FIFA 16 UT? While the game purports to let you build "your fantasy team," you'll actually be hunting for players from the same country and/or same team instead. The developers are so aware of the value of Chemistry that one of the most-expensive packs you can buy will give you a complete Barclays Premiership Club to ensure perfect chemistry.

In other words, while the game sells you the dream of building an Ultimate Team, what the mechanics are actually telling you is to have as many players from the same real-life team as possible. And while some might say that this is part of the challenge of building your team, it actually felt more like a way for the game to pressure you into buying more and more packs. You'll really need to buy lots of packs to find players whose chemistry works well enough to make your team perform well. So, it's not a stretch to say that if you don't pour plenty of dollars in EA's mouth, you won't have a competitive team because you can be sure many others will feed the beast.

Another year and another football game from EA with the predictably titled FIFA 16 which comes in as a multi format release for all to enjoy. Once again the game goes head to head with its Japanese rival Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 which has raised the bar for what can only be described as a realistic representation of the sport. Well now it’s FIFA’s turn with all of its licensed trimmings, but what has to be asked is, once all the razzmatazz is removed how well does the core game stack up to its evolved competitor? But instead we must content ourselves with a typically conservative update that will annoy fans of FIFA’s 15 fast-paced drama. This year’s effort for 2016 remains a supremely polished game of football. It’s stuffed from end to end with content, slickly presented and incorporates even more live updates from the big leagues around the globe – minus the likes of the Blatter saga, obviously.

The new crowd chants really make a difference. The crowd feels much more interactive with what’s happening on the field. Unfortunately they’re still very rigid. Half the crowd does one movement, the other half does another. That's about it. This would be the next priority in future games, as it’s the only visual aspect that makes the game feel arcade-like. Having women's soccer is a welcome addition to the FIFA 16 formula, which continues to have the advantage as far as its bells and whistles beyond the play on the pitch. Changes with defense and passing also improve the core gameplay though it still feels the same overall. One thing's for sure, the series will really need to step up its game next year if it wants to fend off its surging competitor.

Formations and tactics in FIFA 16 are more important than many initially consider. Players will often complain that their team sits back too far on the pitch, that their forwards are always straying offside, or that there's not enough attacking runs in behind the opposition defence. All of this can actually be attributed to the team's tactics. Spend a bit of time adjusting the formation of your team, and consider what mentality you want them to express on the pitch. Do this and you will surely notice improvements in the way they play, and it should better reflect your own personal style.
