How the FIFA 16 deals stack up

The FIFA Game franchise is undeniably the best-selling sports game of all time, setting a record of 12.3 million copies of FIFA 12 sold within a single week only-beating other sporting video games like Madden, NHL, NBA, and other games. But still, fans of the game are fans of the game no matter what. FIFA 16 features, for the first time in franchise history, players form the Womens National Teams. In terms of popularity, EA’s FIFA series has been the undisputed leader but the Japanese heavyweight Konami has turned on the heat with its critically acclaimed Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) series. In the present year, both these franchises will try to capture the market with their respective games. Compared to Konami, EA has all the various licenses to the game but it still needs to upgrade its gameplay quotient every year so as not to lag behind in the gameplay. FIFA 16 will be no different as gamers can look out for improved gameplay and graphics. Video games are becoming more life-like on the latest generation of consoles particularly Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Sources told us that EA will be unveiling major graphics and gameplay improvements at the upcoming E3 conference. EA will be paying specific attention to the stadiums, individual player emotions, and improved commentary.

David Rutter, vice president and general manager of EA Sports FIFA, told The Huffington Post that the creation of a prototype for female players took about two years. Adding women to the game required updates to the motion capture technology in the game. More specifically, the technology had to be advanced to feature female characteristics, such as hairstyles, to ensure the athletes look as real as possible. Another common observation was the fact that women’s bodies differ from men’s, though they weren’t talking about the 3D scanning and motion capture that EA undertook to “build new locomotion for women.”

After Electronic Arts teased that new information on its “FIFA 16” soccer video game would be rolled out this week, the first tidbit has finally been released. Announced alongside a new trailer -- and just in time to coincide with FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 Canada -- EA confirmed Thursday that stars of women’s soccer teams will now be playable characters. In a blog post, EA announced the full list of 12 women’s national teams that will be included in “FIFA 16.” Of the 12 teams, eight will be from the top 10 teams currently ranked in the FIFA Women’s World Ranking. According to EA, the female characters can be played in Match Day, Offline Tournament Mode and Online Friendlies.
