FIFA 17 is an upcoming association football video game in the FIFA series, scheduled to be released on 27 September 2016 in North America and 29 September 2016 for the rest of the world. At the same time, PES 17 is also coming. While FIFA has had a complete overhaul, PES has refined it’s approach to build on the massive strides it made last year. Since their initial releases in the 1990s, FIFA and PES have been vying for the title of best football video game and the battle is set to ramp up another notch for the 2017 edition. We will compare this two game. The new features in FIFA 17 include new attacking techniques, physical player overhaul, active intelligence system and set piece rewrite.
Active Intelligence System: Player movement and awareness has improved. Instead of making runs straight towards goal, they look for space out wide and even try to create space for others by dragging players out of position. The players are simply much smarter. Set Pieces: You can now change how the player approaches the ball and where he stands for free kicks and penalties. You can control the camera angle behind the player and see the trajectory the ball will take. For corners, you can aim your delivery accurately with the help of a reticle. When you take throw-ins, you can fake the throw or move up and down the line.
Physical Overhaul: With one button, players can jostle and protect the ball while dribbling. You can outmuscle your opponents in aerial challenges without the need to jump and head the ball. Giroud can bring it down instead of having to flick a header on forward. Ultimately it’s PES that’s been on top in terms of game play. PES has refined it’s approach to build on the massive strides it made last year. Goalkeepers: In PES 2016 the keepers were a bit of a mess. Now they’ve been vastly improved and are capable of incredibly agile feats. Keepers react quickly to shots and follow them up by springing into action after landing.
They’ll also come up for corners when your tactics are on super attacking. Ball and player physics: The improved first touch and precise passing give a very realistic feel to the game play in PES 2017. Both aspects are more closely related to the player’s attributes. There’s also been improvements in the natural movement of players in terms of finding space and realistically colliding with opponents. Adaptive AI: Now players have to be more wary of the tactics used by the computer. Teams will adjust their game plan based on how you play the match. Overuse a player and defenders will shift to compensate, and that may stop your attack.
But you will have access to an even larger list of advanced instructions to use in the game. In terms of straight game play, PES still seems to be pipping FIFA. EA have made huge strides to improve the gaming aspect of their product, and still dominate online, where Konami is far behind. In terms of the variety a football game experiences you can be offered, FIFA is the way to go. If you just want to play a mate, then PES is where it’s at.
