There's only one major thing wrong with Fifa 16: Chelsea are a pretty good team. After his side's woeful start to the season, manager Jose Mourinho would be wishing there was a reset button but the makers of the game can't be blamed for thinking the defending champions would be near relegation zone nearing the opening quarter of the season. The last game was quiet in terms of its new features, but this game has one of the franchise’s biggest updates in years to shout about - female teams. On the positive side of this, the players have all been modelled extremely well and have their own unique dynamics of play.
The developers have clearly paid a lot of attention to the female side of the sport in designing this part of the game, and it is good to see that they didn’t simply throw female skins into the already built gameplay. On the downside however, the female side of the game is minimal, and very much overshadowed by the male games. You could easily not notice the addition if you hadn’t heard that it was there, and this is largely down to the minimal game types on offer with the female teams. There isn’t enough content to offer seasons, manager mode or even ultimate team with female players, and this is disappointing. The quality of the female game is present, but now the FIFA team need to focus on quantity to make it a meaningful and fully recognized addition to their game.
EA Sports has revealed several game modes won’t appear in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of FIFA 16. In a new blog post, EA Sports outlines all of the features that won’t be making an appearance in the last-gen versions. The reason given is because of While FIFA 16 is set for a simultaneous release on current-gen and last-gen consoles, a number of features reportedly will not be included on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. “The team remains dedicated to bringing gameplay innovation and That’s exactly the case with FIFA 16, but thankfully EA has been pretty upfront about it. If you’re hoping to get the new football title for your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 later this year, you’ll sadly be missing out on a number of features FIFA 16 is the first entry in the series to feature female players.
The game is set to launch on September 22 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Android and iOS. Its demo was recently made available, weighing in at 4.46GB on Xbox One, 1.60GB on Xbox 360. Send that cross in! Authentic crosses let you find teammates with greater accuracy. Attacking players run onto and attack the ball with intent, making defenses scramble as crosses are played behind the back line with vicious intent. Strike the ball right and finish like a pro. Better placement of the foot and ankle gives players variety in shooting and goals scored. You'll be able to feel where the ball is struck and adjust your approach for improved accuracy and power.
EA said that it “remains dedicated to bringing gameplay innovation and popular game modes on last generation's platforms, so there are lots of new features to watch out for”. New features that are available across the games included new gameplay abilities, such as “defend as a unit”, which lets players move together to close down attackers, and “moment of magic”, which helps create special moves. Most of the new features are of that kind, tweaking and refining the gameplay rather than instituting major changes. But developers have added some new game modes, such as Fifa Trainer, a special mode that can overlay training modules to help teach people how to improve — which is available on all platforms.
However, the frequency in which these decisions happen for me is ridiculous. Blatant penalties, Red cards that aren’t red cards (See my YouTube page) the list builds. FIFA 16 is good and grows on what 15 was which is nice to see. Is it worth upgrading from 15? For the improved impact model and updated teams etc, yes I would say it is worth upgrading, but I would probably wait for a little drop in price first as £50/60.00 is a little steep.
